Industry Loses Master Butcher Marco Peerdeman

Industry Loses Master Butcher Marco Peerdeman

It is with great sadness that the IoM learn about the passing of one of our Master Butchers, Marco Peerdeman, aka the OrangeButcher.

He had been part of the butchery scene in the UK for the past 10 years, after moving from the Netherlands where he was already a prolific young butcher. He worked with many people and businesses across the industry, offering support and advice.  This was especially evident when giving his Butchery Classes at Barbecoa and lectures at Harper Adams. Also when asked by the IoM’s CEO, Keith Fisher whether he would get involved with supporting the UK Team for the International Young Butchers Competition, he readily agreed.

His other passion was demonstrating his butchery skills at events like Meatopia and Carnivoornia. These events took him all over the world and enabled him to pass on his vast knowledge of cutting meat in his own professional manner.

Always ready to offer help and advice with a warm smile, he will be sorely missed by many. The IoM would like to extend their condolences to Marco’s family and friends.
