The Institute of Meat undertakes a number of industry fact finding visits every year allowing members to see different aspects of the meat industry that they would not see during the course of their normal work.
It also arranges and contributes to the cost of training meat industry students, sometimes sending them abroad.
As well as taking in visits to the industry’s major companies these trips often include a behind the scenes look at some of the more unusual and particularly interesting aspects of meat industry business life.
Visits are made to companies and organisations in the UK and a number of overseas visits are also organised. In recent years the Institute has organised visits to France, Denmark, the Republic of Ireland and Poland.
